This software will satisfy the expectations of professional DJs who need a powerful and reliable DJ tool. Cross is a digital vinyl and MIDI DJ software for Windows and MAC platforms. Well, if you work with older laptops, you know all this already. Tried to find minimum system requirements for older versions, not available. Now, I took my recycled old Macbook 1,1, Intel Core Duo 2GHz, 250GB hard drive, 2GB RAM, OS X 10.5.8, thought to test with Cross DJ, doesn't seem to happen, newer versions support 10.6 ->, and older versions are corrupted DMG's (of size like 255 bytes). Depends of the laptops, the project I am working etc. So, I buy old laptops for cheap, fix them (if needed), and run older versions of software (usually, not always) with them. I prefer using older hardware, stopped that eternal race between faster computers/new software versions years ago. Other software I have license (like Renoise and Reaper), I have full access to old versions, hope that Mixvibes would fix that too. When bought Cross DJ, I checked and at that point they worked. When I buy software, one of the first things I check it if they also support older versions or at least that you can download them. If Mixvibes doesn't support these anymore, or they are faulty otherwise, I think it would be great if they take faulty links away completely. I tried to download other, newer versions, some ZIP/DMG's are fine, some are corrupted ZIP's or 255 byte DMG's (all 3.x.x versions). OK, good to know, as I can't test it, well, that's fine. Also running some in Linux under Wine, haven't tested any 3.x versions, but old ones works, not perfectly, but works (different problems depending of the version of Wine, and which distro I am using). I don't install Windows 7 as XP is very fast, use less resources, easier to have control to registry, not updating middle of the track. Older decoders are just fine (they are not that old ), at least laptops I have used, the older are a bit (or a bit more) faster, and stable, that's most important, less bells and whistles, that's just better. I run (on gigs) mostly XP, old 2006-2007 dual-cores, thought to test newer versions (2.1-2.5 for instance) as it seems that minimum requirements for 3.x is Windows 7/8. I don't know if this is a correct place to mention it, but usually if any other software I use contains older versions, the links work, I get what I need or want. Let's take the first thing: there's an archive which contains ZIP-files that do not work/are corrupted.
